Mental health is as important as physical health...
Good mental health helps us enjoy our life. Women with PCOS may have increased depression and anxiety. The symptoms associated with having PCOS and the hormonal fluctuations can cause mood swings and increase stress. It is important to keep an eye on any changes in your condition. If you feel like you may have a problem, do seek help. Mental ill health is nothing to be ashamed of and talking about it can really help. If you are the loved one of someone with PCOS, encourage them to talk about it.
If you are feeling anxious, worried or overwhelmed you may find some of the steps below useful.
Keep active...exercise improves your mood
Get involved in a new activity...meet new people
Try to accept yourself as you are... PCOS is not easy at times
Eat foods to nourish your body and give you energy & avoid alcohol
Look out for the signs that things are getting too much
Ask for help...no need to be embarassed
